Student Community at Franklin

Franklin is more than a place to learn - it’s a community where students explore the world, build a career, and connect with peers who share a commitment to curiosity and passion for innovation and creativity. Student journeys are shaped by opportunities that stretch beyond the classroom to help them grow as scholars, leaders, and global citizens.

Franklin is home to bold thinkers, creative problem solvers, and the next generation of leaders. We are a vibrant community defined by what we call the Franklin Spark: ambition, curiosity, creativity, innovation, ‑and the next generation of leaders.

As students chart their paths, we provide a community with support, connection, and confidence so students can explore every opportunity available to them. Franklin is more than a collection of departments; it’s a dynamic community built to help students thrive.

We engage our students by creating relevant student programming by listening to the wants and needs of the Franklin community. At the beginning of the semester, we host Franklin Fest for first-years at Sanford Stadium - our largest event of the year providing a venue for Franklin students to meet each other, learn more about the resources, clubs, and upcoming opportunities in a fun environment with food, games, and prizes.

Quote from Psychology student
“Franklin’s community somehow attracts every student, from theater kids to science lovers. Whether your thing is dance, drama, or dissecting frogs, Franklin just gets you.” - Taylor W. / 2nd Year Psychology

Throughout the academic year, we keep that fun spirit alive with monthly Franklin Fest Pop Ups, one-hour events designed to keep our community engaged and informed about relevant activities as well as providing free food and swag. Beyond creating a sense of belonging within the Franklin Family, we provide opportunities for professional development. Whether this is through an Internship Lunch & Learn or a trip to Entrepreneurs Night in Atlanta, students can opt in to take advantage of whatever suits their interests. Even when we're not planning events, we show up for our students - if there's a campus-wide event like Dawg Day of Giving where we can showcase our UGA pride and interact with our community, we’re there.
