The discovery of important genetic clues about the history of micro-organisms by microbiology professor Barnie Whitman and Ph.D student Felipe Sarmiento was featured in a story on Astrobiology.com

An article on GPB.com quoted associate professor John Knox and Marshall Shepherd on research by Knox about using Facebook to track tornado debris. Knox's study was also featured on ABC News, FOX News, the Albany (NY) Times-Union and dozens of other outlets.
